Shift Lever
Shift lever in 2000 Grand Marquis no longer stops between gears. Is it fixable?
I don’t know much about the shifting system that is used, but i am wondering if it is a case of teeth wearing out on a catch that the shift lever uses. And, if that is the case, is it possible to get a replacement part and install it. The gear display still works, and the car shifts into the right gear still, but only if you can find it by feel.
The detents are in the transmission.
